Moving from the old link

Pepper Spray has a new home: peppersprayapp.com. If you only use the Android app, you don’t need to do anything – your data is inside the app and stays there.

On iPhone, your data belongs to the web address

Safari keeps web-app data per website. So the old pepperspray-lite.netlify.app icon and the new peppersprayapp.com icon can’t see each other’s data. Opening the new one first will look empty. That’s expected – your data is still safe in the old one.

Don’t delete the old Home Screen icon (or clear Safari website data) until you’ve checked everything is in the new one.

Two-minute move

  1. Open the old icon. Go to Settings → Export backup. Save the file to Files (iCloud Drive or On My iPhone).
  2. In Safari, open the new address:
    peppersprayapp.com/full/iphone/ for the full app, or peppersprayapp.com/iphone/ for Lite. Tap Share → Add to Home Screen.
  3. Open the new icon. Go to Settings → Import backup and pick the file you just saved.
  4. Check your items and recent doses are there. All good? Then you can remove the old icon.
Testers: your private tester link works the same way – export from the old tester link, import into the same path on peppersprayapp.com.
